Professional Learning

Professional learning should produce something usable.

Sessions are hands-on. Participants spend most of the time making, revising, or planning — not listening.

Position

Sessions built to be used, not attended.

Most professional learning ends when the room empties. We design sessions backward from a usable artifact: if participants cannot point to something they made or a decision they can now act on, the session did not do its job.

That shapes the format. Content is compressed, examples are concrete, and the majority of the time is spent working — individually, in teams, or across a whole program.

What we offer

Six kinds of engagement.

Each can stand alone or combine into a longer professional learning arc.

01

Workshops

Hands-on sessions for educators and staff, built around the work they are already responsible for.

02

Faculty Development

Sessions for higher education faculty on curriculum design, assessment alignment, and instructional technology.

03

Early Childhood Professional Learning

Play-based learning, language and literacy, early mathematics, and coaching for early learning programs.

04

AI & EdTech Training

Practical, critical training on AI-supported tools: what they do well, where they fail, and how to use them purposefully.

05

Curriculum Design Sessions

Working sessions where teams build or revise curriculum together with structured support.

06

Speaking & Keynotes

Talks on research-informed learning design, educational technology, and turning ideas into usable practice.

Session shape

How a session runs.

  1. 1

    Frame

Establish the problem and the research behind the approach.

  2. 2

    Examine

Look closely at real examples, artifacts, or tools.

  3. 3

    Build

Participants make something during the session, not after it.

  4. 4

    Plan

Leave with a specific next step tied to their own setting.

Example outcomes

What participants leave with

  • A working prototype of a tool, resource, or activity
  • A classroom-ready activity participants designed themselves
  • An implementation plan with concrete next steps
  • A prompt framework for using AI tools purposefully
  • A resource participants can use the following week
  • A revised learning experience they brought to the session

Formats

Sized to your organization

  • Single sessions, multi-part series, or full in-service days
  • In person or online
  • Sized for a small team, a department, or a whole program
  • Content shaped in advance around your goals and constraints
  • Follow-up support available as part of a longer engagement
